The ANU International Scholarships offers various Scholarship opportunities for International students, including Masters by Research, Doctor of Philosophy, and PhD Scholarships. What are ANU scholarships?
Australian National University (ANU) scholarships / ANU International Scholarships have been running since 1926. The scholarships are worth over A$500 million every year, and they’re open to students from around 60 countries around the world, including a huge range of postgraduate opportunities as well as undergraduate programs.
In 2021, more than 5,000 international students came to study at ANU – about 7% of total student population. It’s important to note that not all scholarships at ANU are based on academic excellence; some scholarships are awarded based on a wide range of criteria such as leadership and community service. What does it cover?
ANU International scholarships cover tuition fees and are available to citizens of all countries except China. The value of these scholarships will vary depending on your citizenship, but they are valued at approximately 50% of domestic tuition fees. In addition to tuition funding, recipients will receive a Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) grant towards international student health insurance.
Only one OSHC grant is paid per university year and you must be accepted into an eligible course before your application can be processed by Services for Students Abroad (SSA). If you already have a place at ANU or are applying for another scholarship that covers your health insurance, you don’t need to apply separately for OSHC funding—it will be included in your offer from SSA.
Eligibility Criteria for ANU International Scholarships
-Applicants from all nationalities can apply. -Applicants must be under 35 years of age as at 31 August 2018 (born after 31 August 1982). -Nationality: Applicants will be assessed based on their citizenship, not residency. If you are a citizen of a country other than Australia, New Zealand or Canada, you must have resided there for at least three years immediately prior to your application. -English Language Requirement: The minimum English language requirement is IELTS 6.5 with no band score less than 6.0.
How do I apply for ANU International Scholarships?
It’s a three-step process. First, fill out an application form of ANU International Scholarships (either by hand or online). Second, provide two academic references who can speak to your accomplishments. And third, send everything along with a recent academic transcript and a 600-word essay to scholarships@anu.edu.au.
The deadline is February 15, 2024. Note that you should only apply if you have completed at least one year of postsecondary education by September 1, 2024. Also note that applications are not accepted from students currently enrolled at ANU or elsewhere. It’s an honor to receive an ANU International Scholarship—and it looks great on a CV. Apply today!
When do I need to apply?
The application for International Scholarships at Australian National University is not yet open. The new application will open in December 2024, as per ANU’s website. What should I consider before applying?
There are a number of international ANU International Scholarships available. If you’re planning to apply, make sure you know whether or not you’ll need a student visa. To be eligible for an Australian student visa, international students must enroll in full-time study at an approved educational institution and have adequate financial resources to cover their costs while they are studying.
You should also consider how long your studies will last; if you plan on studying abroad beyond 2024, it’s worth looking into whether or not you can extend your visa beyond that date. A number of countries require nationals from certain countries to have a return ticket back home before getting their visas. Make sure to check if that applies to Canada!
