The Iceland Government Scholarship (IGS) is designed to encourage students from Nordic countries to study Icelandic language and literature at upper secondary schools in Iceland. The scholarship covers tuition fees and living expenses for students.

The Iceland Government Scholarship (IGS) is open to students outside of European Economic Area and Switzerland. Students are required to submit documents proving their eligibility for IGS.
How to Apply?
To apply for an Iceland Government Scholarship, fill out their application form and submit it before August 21, 2022. Winners will be notified of their selection in September. If you are selected to receive a scholarship, you must confirm your enrollment at an Icelandic university before October 31. The Iceland government will cover travel costs for students coming from outside Europe and North America. Additionally, these students are exempt from paying tuition fees for up to four semesters at accredited universities in Iceland.
