     • Candidates must be citizens or have a residence in one of the following areas: Uzbekistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, India, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, or Kazakhstan.
   • Application form Middle East/North Africa.
     • Candidates must be a citizen or have residence in one of the following areas: Lebanon, Tunisia, Syria, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, Libya, Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, or Qatar.
   • Application from Latin America/the Caribbean
     • With the exception of Brazil, candidates must be a citizen of Brazil
   • Application form East Asia/South East Asia.
     • Candidates must be a citizen or have a residence in one of the following regions: Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR, South Korea, Macau SAR, Japan, Malaysia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Cambodia, or China.
   • Application from North America.
     • Candidates must be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
   • Application from Sub-Saharan Africa.

3. Students need to submit a statement supporting their application that is no more than 4,000 characters. Students have to convince the committee why they are the best applicants for the scholarship. So write a strong statement.
