Scholarship Programme Overview

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is an Australian public research university located in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 1949 with the intention to be Australian national university, UNSW is now a federation of five previously independent universities: University of New South Wales, UNSW Canberra, UNSW Medicine Sydney, Australian Catholic University, and Macquarie University. The university comprises 11 faculties and schools, through which it offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees. All founding universities are publicly funded in conjunction with private partners. The current Chancellor is Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO FAHA FTSE who was sworn into office on 5 October 2014.

Application Requirements for UNSW Graduate Scholarship 2024

The University of New South Wales only accepts electronic applications. In order to be considered, you must submit a completed application and essay by 31 March 2024. The essay should consist of your response to two questions:

  1. What are your interests and goals?
  2. Why do you want to study abroad in Germany?

Please note that you will need to upload both your application form and essay in order for it to be considered. All applicants will receive a receipt confirming the successful transmission of their application form on completion, but applicants are advised not to rely on e-mail or any other method of communication with us as an indication that they have successfully submitted their applications.

Eligibility Criteria for University of New South Wales Scholarships

Students who meet the University of New South Wales’ entry requirements can apply to be awarded a scholarship. There are two types of scholarships: non-conditional and conditional. The non-conditional scholarship is available only to students with an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) below 85, while conditional scholarships are awarded to those with an ATAR over 85, but who fall under certain criteria.

Some applications need to be done online, however, you will also have to fill out a physical form and post it in, or send it in via email. These forms must be received by January 31st, so please be sure that you meet these deadlines. Make sure that you read all details pertaining to your scholarships and make sure you have included everything required.

Award Components

University of New South Wales (UNSW) offers a wide range of scholarships. Scholarships are available to students who are commencing or continuing their undergraduate degree in 2024 and beyond, as well as to postgraduate, research and professional development students.

Awards range from $10,000 to $100,000 per year over 3 years. Each scholarship has its own individual criteria with some being very specific and others quite general depending on how much funding is available each year.
